If you know me at all, you know that I love to save money. My husband and I have been in full-time Christian ministry almost all of our marriage. In ministry, the eternal rewards are priceless, but the pay is not high. So in order to stay home with our four children, I’ve learned how to make the most of what God provides. That means using coupons, shopping at Goodwill, and purchasing a lot of furniture, clothes, decorative items and so much more at yard sales. God has always been faithful to provide for us and to help me stretch a dollar. This blog will highlight some of my bargains, money-saving tips, and thoughts on what God is teaching me about money.
If you know me at all, you know that I love God’s Word. My passion for God’s Word really took off when I learned about biblical counseling. I got a taste of how rich God’s Word is for practical living when I started my Master’s degree in biblical counseling through the Master’s College. But having 4 kids in 6 1/2 years put a damper (and a sleepless brain fog) around my higher education pursuit. Fast forward to when our youngest was 6 weeks old – my husband and I went to CDT (Counseling and Discipleship Training) through ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors). It was life-changing for us. For the first time, we were equipped to take the Word of God and apply it to our everyday struggles. After lots of reading, studying, and writing for the ACBC exam, I am in the final supervision stage of biblical counseling certification. This blog will highlight how practical God’s Word is to our everyday lives.
Hence my blog – HIS SAVING GRACE!
My four kids range in age from 9 to 15. The pictures below are the result of our 3rd annual outdoor family shoot. We always went to a local department store for family pictures but when I found a Groupon for this photographer a few years back, we struck gold – and got some nice family pictures out of the deal.
And here’s a pic of me and my hubby.
I am so blessed to be married to a man who is deeply passionate about the Lord. He inspires me to take risks in serving God. He’s the reason that my life has been as adventurous as it has. On my own, I would have chosen a life much more safe and predictable.
